Palm Trees "palmaceae"
Palm trees are the ultimate outdoor plant to indicate you are likely in a tropical garden or tropical region. Most grow only in warm climates, but some can take a bit of cold weather, especially along the coast. Most have large fan shaped fronds or long feathery fronds that sway in the breeze. There is a large range in size of this tropical tree. Most palms have a single slender trunk with a cluster of fronds at the top, while some smaller varieties grow in clumps of trunks from a common base. While they are a great source of visual pleasure, especially for vacationers and garden enthusiasts, they are also a great source of food, wine, oil, fuel, fiber, medicine and building materials for millions of people.
